Composer's Note: What is it about the sun that makes people feel good? Could it be that even at a subconscious level we feel that whomever could make such a marvelous spectacle, with all his power and wisdom, must surely be able to offer us hope for the future. Whatever the case, I certainly feel better on a sunny day and the marvelous spectacle of such a heavenly body always takes me out of my own puny world and it reminds me that someone with immense power and wisdom will surely not leave us on our own.

I just love that in the evening in the summertime

Composer's Note: Any Bible student will quickly see this is based on Romans 7:15-25; the miserable inner fight against human imperfection to maintain integrity and uphold righteous standards. The only present relief from which is forgiveness from God through the ransom sacrifice of Jesus. The only end to such a fight will come when God's will is done on earth as it is in heaven and man is brought to perfection - what a truly wonderful thing to look forward to - to never again offend our Creator! While composing this song I tried to stay as close as I could to the original scriptures as the words there are already superbly and succinctly put.

"I find, then, this law in my case: that when I wish to do what is right, what is bad is present with me. I really delight in the law of God according to the man I am within, but I behold in my members another law warring against the law of my mind and leading me captive to sin's law that is in my members. Composer's Note: When I first started looking into the Bible (over 24 years ago) and getting my questions answered I was simply astounded at the truths explained to me. I wanted to express my feelings in song but at the time it seemed my appreciation was growing too fast each week and I felt anything I wrote would be outdated almost immediately. Instead I wrote a song outlining a simple informal presentation that highlighted the momentous times we live in according to Bible prophecy being fulfilled presently around us as well as the confidence of further promises of God yet to be fulfilled.

What I'd like to say to you wont take of your time
What you've got to listen to is what you've hoped to find.
That is if you're seeking life – a way to stay alive – mmmmmm.
I don't have to tell you Sir of crime in the streets
Or of all the pain and death everyone meets.
That is, you must have formed your own views – you must read the news ..

These are hard times – times – these critical times hard to deal with are here with us today.
And in these times – times – the truth will be heard in all lands for a witness to say;
“This is Jehovah's day!”

Could I draw your attention to what's written in The Book
And what is says in Matthew here – just take a look.
You can see that it must describe today – it's here in everyway – mmmmmm.
Isaiah also tells us here of how our God is kind,
And how men will come to see who were formerly blind
And God's people will have everlasting life – no sorrow and no strife – mmmmm

After these . . . .times – these critical times hard to deal with are here with us today.

So now you'll agree with me - the promises are there.
And God gave us hope to live that you can also share.
But knowledge in Jehovah is the key – this you have to see

Composer's Note: After enjoying a circus performance and thinking back on the trapeze and high wire walker - I remembered that often used phrase - "whatever you do, don't look down" - you'll just freeze with fear. it occurred to me that in life we don't have the advantage of a safety net - we only get one chance and we have to just give it our best shot. But if we don't take any chances, be it in relationships or whatever, we may find ourselves hiding from life (too scared when we 'look down'). We often have to make serious choices with serious consequences if we get it wrong. Speaking as someone who has slipped more times than stayed up, I can only conclude, we might succeed more if we make an addition to that phrase: - "Whatever you do, don't look down - keep looking up" (to our creator for guidance).

The Story Of Noah

Now this is the story of Noah's time when people who did good were hard to find
But Noah was good and was liked by God and brought up his family the same

God said he would bring a great flood. Everyone would drown in the mud
'Cause they wouldn't do what they should It would rain and rain

So Noah went telling from town to town. If they wouldn't listen they'd surely drown

Composer's Note: I wrote this song for my daughter when she was two to help her learn her Bible books and although she could barely pronounce the names of the books she could sing the song within a really short time (and she was really cute singing it too :-) Most people get the hang of it after only a few goes but here's a tip if you're trying to find a Bible book fast: - After you become familiar with the song it's a good idea to get into the habit of starting to sing from different places. I suggest; Ruth & Samuel . . . and Proverbs Ecclesiastes . . . Ezekiel Daniel . . . Galatians Ephesians . . . This way when someone mentions a minor prophet like "Amos" you can start directly at Ezekiel (not Genesis - :-) and be there in a couple of seconds.

This is just a simple song to help you learn your Bible books
